Was the genocide of 1915 in the Ottoman Empire only against the Armenians, or included Assyrians also?

One of the darkest pages in the history of the Assyrian people is the 1915 Seyfo Genocide, known as “Year of the Sword” which claimed two third of the Assyrian population living under the Ottoman rule.

The genocide of over 500,000 Assyrian Christians at the hands of the Ottoman Empire in 1915 has been seldom acknowledged and largely forgotten by the world, yet the pain of this genocide still casts a dark shadow over the Assyrians. Not only 2/3 of the Assyrian Population was murdered at that time, the survivors were uprooted from their historic homeland where they had survived for thousands of years. Since then they have been scattered in the four corners of the world.

This pain and suffering continues in the collective memory of the Assyrian Christians yet Turkey continues to deny its responsibility in this matter, adding insult to injury. How can a million Assyrians who still remember how their family members were murdered and that rest were driven away be wrong?

Do we in Holland know about the Assyrian Genocide, and speak out about this Missing Chapter of the Ottoman History, if not why?

Why speaking about this human tragedy has become a taboo in Holland?

The Seyfo Centre

Sabri Atman continues his drive to educate the world about this subject, recently he traveled to the USA for the first time to speak about it. His visit to the US and his other Seyfo related activities have attracted the attention of the international media.

Here are few links to articles about Sabri's mission and his USA visit.
